Grief Resources

The gift of tissue donation can ease pain, restore motion and replace tissue lost to injury or disease.

One tissue donor can enhance the lives of more than 75 recipients. Recovered tissue is used to treat bone defects including cancers, burn and trauma patients, sports injuries and congenital anomalies. Veins can be used to replace damaged blood vessels, and heart valves are used to replace defective ones, often in children; a replacement of a heart valve is a lifesaving procedure for a recipient. The gift of cornea donation can restore sight to 2 individuals.
