The Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research (LEITR)

Founded as a non-profit, charitable organization by Tampa Bay area Lions Clubs in 1973, Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research (LEITR) has provided the gift of sight to more than 30,000 men, women and children through cornea transplantation and provided 50,000 eyes for research worldwide. LEITR is leading the fight against blinding eye diseases through the recovery, evaluation, and distribution of eye tissue for transplantation, research, and education.
